SRIX4VEG

EOLAB will participate in SRIX4VEG (Surface Reflectance Intercomparison Exercise for Vegetation)

Currently, it does not exist a good practice protocol for the collection of Surface Reflectance (SR) validation data from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). SRIX4VEG is a project that began in the framework of the Working Group on Calibration and Validation (WGCV) of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), in order to present a protocol of good practices based on the collaboration of different professionals in a specific campaign. Each participan will collect SR data according to their own methods and following a provisional protocol.

In each experiment every participant will fly sequentially to every other participant (i.e., a round robin) to ensure that each pair of data is as comparable as possible. The variability of the outputs of each experiment will determine the need for a dedicated protocol, while each participant will put forward recommendations on what the final protocol should look like, thereby reaching a community consensus.

The campaign will take place in Las Tiesas-Barrax (Albacete/Spain) from 18th July 2022 to 22th July 2022.
